The Rocket Boil 'N' Cook Portable Food Cooker is born
After spending one month in Papua New Guinea in 2013 I came back to New Zealand looking to see how I could help the people of Papua New Guinea, Pacific islands and other world countries in their daily life. Watching the women cooking three times a day on the ground, wasting wood with a fire too big for their pots, I came up with the idea to produce stainless steel rocket cookers. With the help of his friends Gary & Wayne from G W Imports Ltd we have designed this unit with a water jacket, so while cooking, it boils the water for safe drinking. This unit makes the task of providing safe water and a hot meal for the family really easy, as it is boils up to 12 litres of water, provides an efficient heat source for cooking, and is fuelled with scrap wood, charcoal or other burnable material. |

The Rocket Boil 'N' Cook™ cooker can be placed on any surface, bringing the “cooking” up off the ground. This cooker uses very little wood making it the ideal campfire cooker. I have done a “PNG boil up” using taro, banana, chicken pieces and cooked this for two hours. I used approximately 1.4 kilo of sticks to provide a decent meal for 7 people. There is a constant supply of boiled safe water from the tap as well. Four litres of water in a pot on top of cooker will boil in 15-20 minutes.
The small amount of wood required to fuel the cooker will result in less wood to search for, and once boiled, the water is safe. If you are looking for a portable cooker for travelling you can't go past the Rocket Boil 'N' Cook™. After any natural disaster the need for safe drinking water and a warm meal for the family is most important - this Rocket Boil 'N' Cook Cooker™ provides this perfectly.
The Rocket Boil 'N' Cook™ is made of robust 304 stainless steel, has a solid carry handle, a simple flap to fill the water jacket and a universal tap. The Rocket Boil 'N' Cook Portable Food Cooker™ is a simple answer to the most common question of safe drinking water and quick hot meals.
Any company, Government Aid Agencies, or Charities, wanting to purchase and distribute the Rocket Boil 'N' Cook™ as disaster relief can have their company name and/ or logo etched onto the cooker.
We have priced the Rocket Boil 'N' Cook™ to a retail of $149.00. Prices for Governments and other Relief Agencies will be negotiated on volume.
The Rocket Boil 'N' Cook™ will be available in NZ July 2015.
